Yesterday the government announced that extra support is available for families during the extended COVID-19 lockdown in New South Wales continuing on by saying: 'Even though child care services remain open in NSW, from Monday 19 July services in Local Government Areas subject to stay-at-home orders can waive gap fees for parents on days they choose to keep their children at home. As previously announced, services can also waive gap fees if they are directed to close by a local authority because of COVID-19 until 31 December 2021'.
If you want waive the gap fee, you can use the Waive Gap Fee function already available in your system. Please refer to the attached tip sheet Optional Gap Fee Waiver. This tip sheet is also available within your support portal under the Processing heading.
If you are unsure or need further clarification on which families to waive, who to offer it to, the time period of this support, then you will need to contact the CCS help desk. As your software provider we can only show you how to apply the waiver within the system and cannot assist you with answering these types of questions. The CCS Help desk number is: 1300 667 276
If you have to close, the Department of Education, Skills and Employment has advised: 'You must also tell us if you are temporarily closing your service for any reason and for any period. To do this, use the Provider Entry Point (PEP) or your third-party software. These notifications are additional to those you must give your state or territory regulatory authority.'
